成城大学グローカル研究センターでは、来たる12月3日（土）、アメリカ、ロヨラ・メリーマウント大学のエドワード・パーク教授をお迎えし、以下の要領で研究講演会を開催いたします。皆さまふるってご参加くださるよう、ご案内申し上げます。（入場無料、事前の予約は必要ありません。）

◆講師紹介
エドワード・パーク教授は、カリフォルニア大学バークレー校で博士号（エスニック・スタディーズ）を取得し、都市社会学および経済社会学を専門としています。特にアメリカ合衆国における移民政策や人種関係について研究されています。近著にProbationary Americans: Contemporary Immigration Policies and the Shaping of Asian American Communities (Routledge, 2005, John S. W. Parkと共著)があり、その他にアジアや中南米からの移民に関する多数の論文を発表されています。今回の講演では、東京とロサンゼルスという２つのグローバル都市における移民の新しい国際移動の実態を報告していただきます。

◆About the Speaker：
Professor Edward Park received his Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. His research topics include immigration policy, race relations, urban studies, and economic sociology. He co-authored with John S. W. Park Probationary Americans: Contemporary Immigration Policies and the Shaping of Asian American Communities(Routledge, 2005) and has also published many articles on Asian and Latino immigrants. In this lecture, Professor Park will discuss the contemporary migration of “temporary” skilled workers and their transformation “from global citizens to local residents” based on his research in two global cities, Tokyo and Los Angeles.
