 成城大学グローカル研究センター(CGS)では、当センターが提唱し推進している「グローカル研究」(グローバル化とローカル化が同時かつ相互に影響を及ぼしながら進行するグローカル化現象に関する研究)の一環として、このたびアジア太平洋無形文化遺産研究センター(IRCI)並びに文化庁との共催で "Glocal Perspectives on Intangible Cultural Heritage: Local Communities, Researchers, States and UNESCO” 「無形文化遺産をグローカルに見る—地域社会と研究者、国家、ユネスコの相互作用—」と題するシンポジウムを開催することになりました。ユネスコの無形文化遺産保護条約が成立・発効して10年以上が経過した今日、グローバルに拡大・浸透したユネスコ無形文化遺産保護の理念や文化政策が、それを受け入れたローカルな場(各国政府や地方自治体、無形文化遺産を保持、継承するコミュニティなど)にさまざまな影響を及ぼしています。その実情や実態を、これまで十分には議論されてこなかったアジア太平洋諸国の実例を中心に明らかにし、今後のより良いユネスコ無形文化遺産保護のあり方を考えてみようというのが本シンポジウム開催の趣旨です。
