本書は、2014年5月15日に開催された、国際人類学・民族学科学連合（IUAES：International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Studies）の分科会、“The Perspective of Glocalization: Addressing the Changing Society and Culture under Globalization”の発表原稿に若干の加筆・修正を加えた8編の論考を収めたものです。
