President of Seijo University
Seijo University is highly evaluated for its focus in the arts and social sciences with a liberal atmosphere. Relatively small in size, it has adhered to the founding educational principles to nurture broad-minded well-learnt graduates, who are rich with creativity and are well prepared to contribute to the society. Located in the vicinity of the city center, it is nevertheless surrounded by lush greenery. This environment contributes significantly to our educational principles and atmosphere.
Seijo University presently offers four faculties with eleven departments based on a small class system. Furthermore the Center for General Education is committed to break the barriers of faculties by putting emphasis on practical education: the center offers general knowledge and computer skills as well as supports career development. There are ten majors in the four graduate schools where highly advanced expertise and front line scholars nurture professionals with their state-of-the-art and overwhelmingly original research.
Seijo University has been offering an education to encourage initiative and independent thought, and close interaction between students and professors. In the 21st century where globalization is drastically changing societies, I believe our students will show their values and will be actively involved in various fields. Seijo University is committed to nurture graduates, who can contribute to our future society, by maintaining its traditional strength while adapting to the changing times by ceaselessly reviewing and reinventing its education and research.
